We had our final performance of Alice in Wonderland today in front of a great audience of students from South Broadview. The production was amazing! A big shout out to all of our cast, behind the stage crew, and to Bridgid, Ms. Hiebert, and Ms. Brunwald!

We have been very fortunate this school year to be able to offer students and staff food choices for lunch on each day of the week. We want to send out a HUGE shoutout to the Shuswap Food Action Society who has been coming in every Tuesday and Thursday this school year to cook healthy and delicious food for our SMS students and staff to order! We also want to thank Kari for organizing our pizza lunches on Mondays, Theresa and Kaeli for making amazing soups and bannock on Wednesdays, and Ms. Hoffort and her student helpers for making quesadillas and mac’n’cheese on Fridays!

As we look ahead to the end of the year we want to give families time to plan lunches ahead of time. There will be no more lunchtime food program on Wednesdays, and the last day for all food programs will be Friday, June 16.

Our breakfast program will continue until the end of the school year.

Thank you again to all of Shuswap Food Action Society and our school staff for providing these lunchtime options this year!

Mrs. Thio’s class has been working hard to beautify our courtyard! Thanks to BC Agriculture in the Classroom and Nico’s Nurseryland our courtyard has never looked so good!

Our SMS Gr. 8 Band and Gr. 7/8 Jazz Band gave outstanding performances at the Shuswap Music Festival this week – both bands were awarded gold! Well done to our young musicians, and a big thank you to our music teacher Ms. Beach!

Last week the SMS Choir performed at the Shuswap Music Festival and placed first in their category! A big shoutout to Ms. Ironside and all of our amazing choir students!
