Dear Shuswap Middle School Students and Families,
Welcome back! We are finally updating our page and noticed the opening statement from three years ago amid Covid which stated, “Without a doubt, these are difficult and challenging times for everyone.” It seems this is still true as we face wildfires, rising costs of living and other unpredictable events (???) that can impact our well-being. It is remarkable how resilient and strong we have been in the face of adversity. And….we have discovered that we can do hard things and we will continue to do our best in any circumstance. We want you to know that we understand how difficult life, and especially adolescence, can be and that we all need support now and then to get through tough times. And….we have discovered that we can do hard things and we will continue to do our best in any circumstance. The staff at SMS are here to support you to be who you want and choose to be and to help in times of struggle. Ms. Mueller and Ms. Janowsky are available in the counselling center if you need someone else to talk to.
