A message from SMS PE teacher and Athletic Director

To all students and their families;

Mr. Smith has posted information for both PE and Athletics on the SMS PE and Athletic Blog (smspeandathletics.blogspot.com) and he wants to encourage everyone to check the PE and Athletic Blog on a weekly basis for activities, workouts, ideas for DPA (Daily Physical Activity), and ideas for “Open Gym.” Yes, Mr. Smith is still doing “Open Gym!” Mr. Smith has also created Google Classrooms for grade 8, grade 7 and grade 6 students. Students are asked to go to classroom.google.com, or click on the link https://classroom.google.com/u/0/h to access the classes he has set up. To sign in to Google Classroom, students are asked to use their SD#83 email and then use the following class codes to sign in: Gr. 8 = c5r5unt … Gr. 7 = j5cn7nh … Gr. 6 = 5ywocfy … “Open Gym” = oyzsvti. Students are encouraged to use the Blog and the activities in Google Classroom to help them with their DPA throughout each week.  It is extremely important to be physically active for at least 60 minutes per day Students need to set daily activity routines/workouts, eat healthy, establish good sleeping habits, continue to practice social distancing, wash hands on a regular basis, and stay home. Establishing daily, healthy habits will help in the development of one’s overall mental, emotional, and physical well-being.  Please stay safe and healthy, and enjoy your time at home.
