Greetings from our new Principal

Hello SMS Families and Friends:

I hope you are enjoying the summer sun with loved ones – such a beautiful place in the world to spend a summer!

Being new to Salmon Arm, I appreciate the beautiful lakes, forest trails, and my new friends very much:)

Currently, I’d like to assure you that the counselling and school admin team are hard at work designing the small learning groups, of 60 students, to ensure the SMS daily operations are safe, calm, and thoughtful. We are excited that we can teach and learn in a setting that offers a rich variety of experiences to our students, while maintaining a safe team design. 

Here is our plan for the next couple of weeks:

1) Supply lists will be sent out to all families Monday Aug. 24 or Tuesday August 25. (This allows 2 1/2 weeks for families to plan)

2) Simple safety routines will be posted on our SMS website and sent out to families via email in the first week of September. (We will use the most up-to-date information and will communicate any important updates immediately to families)

3) Students will report to schools on Thursday, September 10 

Instructions for safe arrival of our students will be sent out to families a few days before school starts so that you can read/review them with your children.

We will have a thorough orientation of safety routines, resources, and helpful standards that will be taught numerous times throughout the month of September, and periodically throughout our time together, so all students and staff feel safe and welcome.
