Registration for French Immersion
Are you interested in Late French Immersion in School District No. 83 (North Okanagan-Shuswap)?
Sibling pre-registration is currently open and then a general information and registration session is scheduled for March 3. The sibling pre-registration is for any sibling of a student currently in any of SD83’s French Immersion programs.
If you have a student who will be entering Grade 6 in September 2022, and would like to pre-register for Late French Immersion, this completed registration form must be received at the School District office, no later than Monday, February 21, 2022 at 4 pm. Click here for the Late Sibling registration form.
Please either hand deliver or email the completed registration form to Rachel Vandergrift, School District No. 83, 341 Shuswap St SW, Salmon Arm or email rvanderg@sd83.bc.ca.
If siblings are not pre-registered as above by the February 21st deadline, students can then join the registration process with other interested ‘non-sibling’ students.
For those with no siblings in French Immersion, an information and registration session on SD83’s Late French Immersion (LFI) Program will take place on Thursday, March 3 at 6 p.m. This will be an online session via TEAMS. Closer to this date, the link for the session will be on Shuswap Middle School’s website at https://sms.sd83.bc.ca .
It is important that parents and students attend this online meeting. Following the meeting, a survey link will be shared with all families in attendance. The survey will provide registration information and is essential for those interested in registering for LFI.
If you have any questions regarding the French Immersion program, please contact Laura Jegues, District Vice-Principal of French Immersion at 250-832-3741, or Megan Weir, Vice-Principal of Shuswap Middle School at 250-832-6031.
The Late Immersion program is housed at Shuswap Middle School. Transportation to French Immersion is the responsibility of the parent(s).
